Going for the Olympics - powered by Human Element Coaching

Swedish super talent Fredrik Bodén is giving his all to make it to the 2008 Beijing Olympics!

As a kid I was pretty impressed by the stories of Wilhelm Tell. Not anymore, not after having seen Fredrik nailing clay pigeons!

Fredrik's story is of the stuff you see in Hollywood movies; a 30 year old guy, forced to drop soccer because of knee injuries, was hanging out with a friend on a sunny Saturday afternoon when the friend convinces him to go and have some fun at a shooting range. To everybody's big surprise (and jealousy...) it turned out that Fredrik could hardly miss the fast flying clay pigeons.

Two years later, in 2004,  he represented Sweden in the European Championships, downing 123 out of 125 pigeons on the first day and ranking  8th  in competition amongst 110 of the best European shooters. 

Now, hold it there for just a minute - What would you think if it happened to you? No matter what, it would make you think, right? So did Fredrik and that was his mistake; What is happening? My God, I'm number eight! What if I win..? I could win!

He ended 38, still a great result for a beginner in the game and the best Swede in the championship.

Today, we write 2007 and Fredrik is a different shooter altogether. He is not quite there yet, as he still gets in his own way sometimes, but he is a much more stable athlete. In fact, he is a much more stable person.

"I'm amazed of the huge impact the coaching has had on me! I've learned so much about myself and what is truly important in life. On a good day I am shooting as good as the very best in the world. After the European World Cup back in 2002, I lost the joy and the feeling I so much depended on.  And then I panicked. I practiced so hard I almost killed myself. Today, thanks to Janne and the coaching, I've found my center and as a result my shooting skill has come back. Man, am I looking forward to Beijing..!"
